Almost Not Yet!

Friday, 13 January 2012 19:33
PedallingThe animating for "Not Yet" is going as planned...but we've hit a bit of an audio speed bump.   I am confident that it's all going to come together very soon, however...starting with tonight's recording session at MetroSonic Studios where there will be munchkins,  good company and hopefully some fantastic  performances!

2011 is "Not Yet!" Over

Sunday, 04 December 2011 02:52
Disgruntled_05BWhat a crazy year this has been!  Sesame has selected my most recent pitch...so "Not Yet!" will be going into production within the next week.  Into production means I go into my pajamas for a month...and with the cold weather approaching, what better outfit is there?  In the meantime, I've been working on my "Bullets" short...and in the meantime of that meantime, I've been getting ready for December's Animation Club Meeting (left).  My assignment: A disgruntled secretary meekly surfing.

Thirteen CAN be lucky!

ThirteenFlowersOn the heels of "Twelve Little Chicks" comes my latest Sesame Street short..."Thirteen's Not So Lucky"!  By pure coincidence (I think) we've been moving up numerically.   If this keeps up, I'm going to run out of room on the screen for whatever it is we're counting!  It's been a crazy month...two weeks to make my animated short, and now we're headed down to Kentucky to open the new Louisville Trader Joe's.  Jason and I completed a mural each every two days to get everything done for the deadline.   I am looking forward to a leisurely zombie-filled  Halloween!

ABP Audience Award!

Tuesday, 02 August 2011 02:45
Hearts_CornThanks to all of my fantastic friends who came out to the premiere of Craft this weekend!  Because of you (and possibly some other random but generous folks?), this little short won the Animation Block Party 2011 Audience Award!  I still can't believe it!...the award part...not the fact that you are such a supportive and wonderful group of people.  Special thanks also to Casey Safron, the founder of ABP, who has been a great source of encouragement.  I am psyched to get back to the drawing board!

Block Party on Sesame Street!

Friday, 08 July 2011 02:14
TwelveChicksinaRowBannerI'm happy to announce my animated short Twelve Little Chicks will be airing on Sesame Street's upcoming 42nd season!  And in the neighborhood of this good news, Craft will be screening at BAM on July 31st as part of Animation Block Party's spectacular animation weekend.  So stay tuned for air dates for Twelve, and maybe I'll see you at BAM at the end of July.  I'll be there for all of the screenings on Sunday, if you want to say "hello".

Published Pajamas?!

I was completely shocked to discover that my drawing, yes, the one I posted below two weeks ago, has been chosen to be included in Gemma Correll's BOOK, "What I Wore Today!".  I am totally honored to be included in this diverse and wonderful collection of drawings, and am still not quite able to believe it was picked.  I've always been self-conscious about my "style" of drawing, since it feels to me not as clever as the illustrators I see out there (Gemma inlcuded), and have blamed my fine art background for that, but J has reassured me that my style is a style, and with this latest news I am feeling a bit more accepting of it.  Many thanks to Gemma, and many congrats to everyone who has entered this really fun contest...your drawings are inspiring!

Getting down to the wire...

WhatIWoreToday_June9_2011_webMy Sesame Street deadline is fast approaching...but I'm still waiting for revisions  from their research team!  Yikes!  So in the meantime, I have entered another "What I Wore Today" drawing, which is becoming a great way to get my hand moving.  Since J and I decided to try to live without the AC...I almost roasted to death in the apartment today.  He installed the energy consuming monster as soon as he came home from work.
